Haus of Hoodoo welcomes you to our annual
Fet Kouzen Zaka Ceremony
on Saturday, May 4th 2024 at 11am CST.

Who is Kouzen Zaka?

Kouzen Zaka is the Lwa of agriculture in Haitian Vodou. He governs over work, business, money, prosperity, abundance, trade, the market place and farming.

As the Lwa who governs business and trade, Kouzen Zaka is often seen doing business with those who attend his ceremonies. You may come to his parties just to celebrate and be in communion with Spirit and community. But those who are wise, come to his parties to do business with him or to renew any long standing business deals they have with Kouzen.

Kouzen Zaka is very generous and exceeds expectations with what he gives. You ask him for a little business and he’ll have you opening multiple locations in no time. He can help you grow your wealth, but he’ll make you work for it. No lucky breaks, no hand outs, no easy money. Kouzen Zaka glorifies work.

Acceptable offering for this ceremony is cash.

Why do Spirits take cash offerings? What does a Spirit need money for?
Money is what people value most these days. Money is our most valuable trade. Before our most valuable trade was human life. Then it was cattle. Now is money.

Your cash must accompany your handwritten petition. Address your petition directly to Kouzen Zaka, introduce yourself, and tell him what you need / want. At the end of your petition, write your full birth name and sign it.

Dress Code:

At the Botanica, we will be selling traditional Haitian Karabela dresses, kaftans and shifts. Karabela is the traditional clothes of Kouzen Zaka. A light chambray type fabric. If you can’t purchase Karabela, then come dressed in denim. No exceptions. Karabela or denim are the attire. Also required a chapo (straw hat, sun hat). You can buy the traditional ones we sell at the Botanica (preferable) or bring your own.

Ceremonial Bath:

We will be offering a ceremonial bath for prosperity, wealth, and abundance for in-person attendees of the ceremony. This bath is not sold online or in-store. For pricing, please call the Botanica at 504-302-2042 to speak with a Team Member directly.
